What Lubbock Foundation Repair is, and what it is not

We are not a foundation repair contractor

We want that stated plainly rather than buried. Lubbock Foundation Repair does not employ crews, does not own equipment, does not perform inspections and does not carry out repairs. What we do is operate this site and this phone number, take requests from homeowners across Lubbock and the South Plains, and route them to an independent contractor who does the actual work.

Once you are connected, we are out of it. The contract, the price, the schedule, the workmanship and the warranty are between you and the contractor you hire. We do not supervise their work and we are not a party to your agreement with them.

Why a referral service rather than another contractor site

Because the hard part for most homeowners is not finding a foundation company. It is figuring out which of the search results is worth calling and what questions to ask when someone shows up. Texas makes that unusually difficult, for a reason most people never hear: there is no state license for foundation repair contractors. Bills to create one have been filed more than once and have not passed. Anyone in Texas can start a foundation repair company.

That puts the entire verification burden on the homeowner. So the second thing this site tries to do, alongside connecting you with someone, is tell you what can actually be checked — City of Lubbock contractor registration, general liability coverage, the license of any Professional Engineer signing off on the repair — and what the ground under your particular part of the South Plains is likely doing.

What we will not do

We will not tell you your house needs piers. We are not qualified to, and under Texas law that judgment belongs to a Professional Engineer. Analyzing the cause of a foundation condition and specifying a repair is the practice of engineering under the Texas Engineering Practice Act, and it requires a license issued by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

We also will not pretend to a history we do not have. You will not find claims on this site about how long anyone has been in business, how many jobs have been done, or what customers thought. If a claim like that is not something you could verify, it should not be on a website, and it is not on this one.
